FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

Can't find an answer? email cinemaequip@jpca.org.uk

Do I need any sort of licence to show  a public screening of a film ?

Yes, a licence may be needed - the fee depends if it is a free event or if there is an admission charge. For more information visit http://www.filmbank.co.uk/

Is the equipment easy to set up?

Yes - it's fairly easy to assemble and can be fully set-up in about 20-30 minutes

Can the screen be installed inside a building?

Yes - but you would need to find a method of securing it, as it is not freestanding

Do you deliver and install the equipment ?

No - it is 'self install' .... but we'll let you know how to put the package together. The equipment would have to be collected from and returned to Jennett's Park Community Centre at an agreed time

Does the projector work in daytime ?

No - the image is projected onto a white screen and is therefore not visible in bright light. It is best viewed during twilight or darkness. However, it is suitable for viewing inside a building with curtains closed, lights dimmed, etc

Is a power supply included ?

No - the hirer would have to provide a suitable electricity supply and cables (if necessary) to power the equipment

Do you have spare equipment ?

Yes - we do have a spare blower and projector available should a problem arise. However there is no replacement inflatable screen, sound board or DVD/Blu Ray player

Why do you take a security deposit ?

The security deposit, payable in cash, is taken as a security against any damage that may be caused to the equipment or overdue hire charges. The equipment is expensive and extremely costly to replace. Accidental damage can occur - you may be able to take out your own insurance policy to cover this
